Vanishing Point

Winners of the inaugural Mercury Music Prize in 1992 (with Screamadelica), Primal Scream emerged from their Camden rehearsal bunker with new bass player Gary Mounfield (from The Stone Roses) to record Vanishing Point with Brendan Lynch during the summer of '96. The album features contributions from Glen Matlock, Marco Nelson, The Memphis Horns and Augustus Pablo - the only time Pablo has appeared on anyone else's record - as well as additional production by Andrew Weatherall. Having already sold close to a quarter of a million copies, it debuted on the chart top three.
