<![CDATA[Australian radio station FBI 94.5fm has been home to a week long takeover by London-based imprint Young Turks, with label boss Tic hosting the afternoon show. There have been plenty of exclusives, including a live set from SBTRKT and new material from Jack Peñate. Perhaps most exciting was the premiere of 'Touch Me', a brand new solo track from Jamie xx that builds on the format he established with 'Far Nearer']]>

He amassed over 5000 hours of recordings, including the first known documents of Leadbelly, Muddy Waters and Woody Guthrie. Ladyhawke starts the build up for second album 'Anxiety' with 'Black White & Blue', a radio-ready track that quickly builds from dreamy beginnings into an irrepressible sing-along. The Big Pink, who themselves have just released their own sophomore set 'Future This', take the song in a completely different direction. The duo instil a dark, industrial edge before launching into an unbridled breakbeat ahead of the massive chorus.]]>

There was a stylistic switch between Toro Y Moi's first two albums, with Chaz Bundwick's music evolving from the ethereal haze of 'Causers Of This' into the lo-fi hybrid of Blue Eyed Soul and Rhodes driven Indie of 'Underneath The Pine'. 'June 2009' shines a light on all that went before, collating many of Bundwick's early demos for posterity and packaging them in a 7" vinyl box set. Third album 'No One Can Ever Know' confirms The Twilight Sad as one of indigenous Indie's most progressive forces. They worked with Andrew Weatherall on the album, delving into a mine of influences that included Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Liars. As a result the record is readily distinguishable from its predecessors, though there's never any mistaking the Scottish trio's ambitious drive or James Graham's unmistakable intonations.]]>

Dance music is, by it’s very nature, reliant on setting, which is why it can sometimes be a tricky translation from dancefloor to album. Sheffield’s Toddla T is no stranger to the discotheque, in fact he’s very much a DJ du jour - another factor that could have easily had a detrimental effect on his debut long player. Fortunately Toddla’s taken notes from his townsmen the Arctic Monkeys (Matt Helders appears on the album, as do Roots Manuva and Tinchy Stryder) and ignored much of the hype that surrounds him, producing an album that bumps with energy and humour and captures the excitement of his sweat inducing sets.]]>
