Newcastle Upon Tyne to host first ever Mercury Prize outside of London.
English Teacher were announced tonight, Thursday 5 September 2024, as the overall winner of the 2024 Mercury Prize for their album ‘This Could Be Texas’.

The ‘Mercury Prize 2024: Album of the Year’ TV programme will be filmed and broadcast live from Abbey Road Studios on Thursday, 5 September 2024. The programme will be shown on BBC Four (8pm-9.15pm).
