The 1975 have won the inaugural Hyundai Mercury Prize fan vote, placing them into the group of Finalists alongside Radiohead, Laura Mvula, Michael Kiwanuka, David Bowie and the prize's winner; Skepta.
The 1975 made the shortlist for their second album, 'I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful, yet so unaware of it.' The chart topping album includes the singles, 'The Sound,' 'Love Me' and 'Somebody Else.'
Speaking at the event, lead singer, Matt Healey described their sophomore effort as a 'generationally relevant' album.
